Farm products available at the market are seasonal.
This is a local farmers market- which means we will have seasonal farm products. Tomatoes generally are not ready in June and you won't find pineapples and oranges here because they aren't farmed here (wrong climate).
Early season crops include peas, asparagus, radishes, lettuces, green onions- that sort of thing. Some berries are ready in June as well. As the season progresses, you will find more warm weather crops coming in and the local bounty increases. This year we've been unseasonably warm, so it is likely that we'll have a greater bounty early on- so stop by each week to get your groceries at the market instead of at the large chain store. (The store won't miss you, but the farmers will!)
Local meats are available from our farms as well. These must be sold frozen at the farmers market (a health department rule). Often you will find an assortment of interesting eggs at the market. Maybe duck or quail eggs are available on certain weeks- much depends on the critters.
Fresh cut flowers and plants will again be available at fantastic prices just begging you to take them home!
EBT users will be able to purchase fresh local products at the market this year. Transactions with EBT cards and Debit cards are facilitated at the market booth, and you receive tokens for purchases. EBT tokens can be used for allowable food purchases only, while debit card tokens are good for any product at the market.
Hot foods will be available at the market - just in time for dinner. BBQ, Street Tacos, Gourmet Dogs, and a variety of other food items will be waiting for you so be sure to stop in on the way home from work or on the way out to start your weekend right.
Handcrafted artisan items are available at this market- we believe in supporting local small businesses. Items for the garden and the home are allowed at this market, including a number of natural products for household use, and garden furniture.
Please do your weekly shopping at the market- it makes a big difference to the farmers and local small businesses
when you do- so be sure to shop the market every week and keep them growing!
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at the market!
